Description: These dataset are intended to provide the United Nations community with a worldwide coverage of international boundaries consistent with the boundary representations that are used by the U.N. Cartographic Section at scales of 1:1million and 1:15million. Under no circumstances should this dataset, and/or any map derived from it, be construed as an official representation or endorsement of these international boundaries by the United Nations. The agencies/departments in the UN Secretariat uses are to be reminded that the maps they prepare for UN publication are supposed to be cleared by the UN Cartographic Section before the publication (for further details, please see the Guidelines for map clearance). It should be also reminded that other UN agencies outside the Secretariat need to take whole responsibility for their published maps. The 1:1million dataset initially from VMAP0 has been corrected to better reflect the cartography practise of UN Cartographic Section.
